Do I Regret It?

I can honestly say this without a doubt, I don't regret a single

thing about being a young mother.

Sure, it can be a struggle, but in other ways it's easier. I LOVE being 18 years apart from my son.

Without Knox, I'd probably still be partying, most likely just making rent, but starving. Not even worrying about how or when I'd graduate, let alone my future. A lot of people say 'oh well, you're just a baby having a baby!' no. Sure I'm young, but I've done taxes, I was & have been living out of home for quite some time & have had a handful of different jobs. Sure, I might not be as financially secure as I'd like to be, or as mature, but really no matter the age; is anyone really ready?

I'm not as mentally mature as I've liked to be, but Knox is helping me find myself so much easier than before. I am so grateful for all the supports out there for young parents nowadays. I'm so grateful to be able to go to a school that'll pay me if I maintain a good attendance & grades; as well as provide daycare for Knox in the same building. I have more help & opportunities now as if I would've had knox years down the road.

I'm grateful that people are now finally starting to accept that it's OK if you're a 'teen mum' or a 'young mum'. Sure, it's not encouraged but it happens; people need to understand that.

Like a lot of teen mothers out there, I want to show that we can do this whole mum thing, beyond expectations. We can provide for our child, materialistically & mentally. Just because we are not considered adults yet doesnt mean we can't achieve that level of mentality at all. I know people who are older than I & act younger.

But seriously. I honestly love being a young mum & I also love to prove people wrong. Being a mother is the best, most rewarding thing I've ever done. I'll never look back. It is my absolute favorite. I don't regret anything before, during or after. It was all worth it & I would definitely do it all over again. I'm so happy I'll be able to watch my kids grow up along with their kids.

Doing this whole mum thing, it isn't the easiest job to do, in my opinion it's the hardest job to do. But it's sadly the easiest to judge. I can't wait to finish school & see what's in store for my little family. Knox motivates me to be the best I can be & to keep moving forward, & that's just what I needed.

Age does not affect the ability to parent, if you dont let it.
